UCLA Musicology Chair, student of minimalism, Motown, and other things that start with "m" (or don't).

I'm a musicologist and professor at UCLA. I write on contemporary music (popular and avant-garde) and teach classes on everything from Italian opera to electronic dance music. Current projects are a book on post-classical classical music, and an edited collection on tone and timbre in popular music.

I also work as a freelance forensic musicologist on popular music copyright. Feel free to contact me for hourly rates and more information.
