Ricky Deane was part of an organisation which changed South Shields nightlife forever. The legacy of the level of professionalism the 1st Leisure Group brought to our town lives on today.
Many DJ’s still involved with the industry today owe a massive debt of gratitude to Ricky, Paul Barron and those who followed them down the Yellow Brick Road.
To ensure the memory of such a great person and DJ live on it is the intention of this group to organise and run a number of events to raise money to provide a DJ school in Ricky’s name.
It will be a fitting tribute to a man who came amongst us and enlightened us with his wit; generosity and personality that the skills he taught many of us are passed on to a new generation.
To achieve this will undoubtedly be a mammoth task considering the financial climate we all live in today.
