About Open up the mic™

Open up the Mic™ is the evolution of a collaboration that RescuePoetix™ founded in Jersey City NJ in 2009 that pulled together the sounds and voices of Jersey City. The radio show will take on a global/world music feel and put together the various elements that bring music and poetry into a flow that weaves itself through our every day lives.

Each show will delve into various forms of poetic rhythms with and without music. Poetry from all over the world, in a variety of languages will fill the airwaves and lead you on a journey of discovery designed to uplift the spirit.
