Carlos Rojas “Red Diamond” is a natural talent who was born into a family of musicians and so from a very early age was exposed to music. As a child he showed so much interest in music that his family felt obliged to send him for formal music studies.
He studied the violin with Bogotá’s most famous violinist Rodolfo Briseño and so began playing in classical orchestra’s from the tender age of eleven years old. At the age of fifteen the life of Carlos changed radically. He met and started to study with the Cuban virtuoso percussionist Frank Calzadilla. This led him to several years of in depth music study with a scholarship in ‘Universidad Pedagógica Nacional of Colombia.
