The Rap Battles for Social Justice has organized three successful events in 2015. With live hip hop music provided by Urban Science, veteran and upcoming rappers as well as first-timers perform their original lyrics aiming at systemic oppression. Popular education to a beat, a total of over 800 people have attended our battles so far. And we’re just getting started.

The foundations of each show are solidified by the generous collaborations and contributions from different grassroots, community and student groups such as the Concordia Student Union (CSU), Students’ Society of McGill University, Sustainability Action Fund, Divest McGill, Divest Concordia, Climate Justice Montreal, Hip Hop Heads Concordia, CKUT radio, Geograds, Sociology and Anthropology Student Union, La Marche des peuples, Coule Pas Chez Nous, and the Centre for Gender Advocacy.
