Power Frau is an all-female DJ collective based in Manchester, UK.

Founding members Kirsty & Carly were getting sick of the lack of respect female DJs get in the industry. Women are either seen as adornments for their male counterparts, iPod DJs, musically immature or invisible when it comes to playing records and we think it's about time that stopped. They then decided to begin a collective that is all about creating new music, a new atmosphere and new ideas, ideas to inspire and spur others on. We want to take the misogyny out of club spaces and show everyone what we grrrls can do.

We don't want to segregate or alienate ourselves from the male population of DJs but be seen as equals in ability and taste. Embrace it.
