Thami Ngcoza was born and raised in South Africa where he also took his first musical steps as a DJ in local Sunday sessions, playing Hip Hop, Jazz and Chicago Tech. Soon after he started to spin regularly he was also interested in computer music production and started to do his own productions in 2001 with a few synths. When he got his first Laptop in 2002 he started to integrate it into his DJ-Sets and soon the Laptop played an important role in all his music activities. The software got better and better and He enjoyed new possibilities.
2003, after he had finished his studies in Graphic Design, he decided to move to Johannesburg and worked as a Graphic Designer for 2 years. Time went and things developed nicely also on the music side and he had the chance to found his own label Play-My-Records together with Ray Pattish who had just released Thami Ngcoza’s first ever Vinyl " called "In To It EP" on his label On-The-Move Records in 2002.
