Plattenbau which used to be called U-FUNK, was inspired by a schoolmate in the 80s. With wide eyes he watched him mix the hits of the time and he immediately realized: he wanted to be able to do that too. His roots are in rock, in the late 80s there was a love of hiphop, black music, and later also a passion for electronic music.
The first gigs came at Housewahn, the first major parties where he could only learn to fine-tune his antennas to the audience. The first warmups and bookings took place in the former UFO in Bernhausen, Bagwahn, P-Club and Housten. In addition, he stopped at the following stations: floor2floor, Cafe Elements, both in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Ulmer Roxy, Charivari and Hansen in Ulm and the curve star in Berlin. Other addresses were: Phoenix Club in Hanover, Stars & Stairs in Nuremberg, Rohbau Bravo Charlie in Stuttgart, Espresso Klub and the lemonlu bahçe in Istanbul. U-Funk likes to appear with its pseudonym "plattenbau" and increasingly plays techno and techhouse set
