Covers, Tributes, & Reinterpretations

I think Mos Def was right when he said that the future of hip hop is in the instrumental album. I think 95% of my favorite releases of the last few years have been without emcees. Since I'm always looking for a new theme to base a mix around, I thought it would be a good idea to mix together my favorite cover songs, tributes, and reinterpretations of hip hop classics that have proliferated over the last few years. Now it just so happens, all these joints (or almost all) are emcee'less. The mix consists of tributes to, reinterpretations of, and covers by Miles Davis, Jeremy Taylor, El Michels Affair, Wu Tang Clan, Isaac Hayes, Biggie Smalls, Frank Sinatra, Madlib, J. Dilla, J.
