Captain PhilthyPhil of Dancetronauts has had a history of musical backgrounds.
He was born in Queens and grew up on the streets of New York. At a young age he tinkered with Keyboards, Synthesizers,Bass Guitar and utilizing his fathers 8-track recorder he layered tracks and recorded songs. Influenced by the HIp Hop era and subjected to the reggae scene by his parents Phil started spinning Dancehall with acapella lyrics from well known rap artists in 1996. This scene exploded when he moved to Santa Cruz CA.After attending Burning Man in 2001 his heart was set on the electronic music scene and there was no going back...
PhilthyPhil is the creator and co-founder of the Dancetronauts a full scale EDM stage production. Dancetronauts stage has been a major feature at large events such as EDC, NASCAR,Life is Beautiful,LovEvolution and many other festivals. With the entire concept being put into action as of 2010 Dancetronauts production continues to climb the charts in the EDM world.
