Jazz great Abdullah Ibrahim left us recently at the age of 91. A brief remembrance here with nine performances, eight of them his compositions. They include things recorded from 1960 to 2008, but concentrate on some recordings of the 70's that were like musical manna for me. (playlist in Comments)

Thanks for this tribute, Patrick! I thought of contacting you to check if you were planning to mark the great man's passing, but realised there was no way you would fail to do so:) His recordings as Dollar Brand (This Is Dollar Brand, African Sketchbook and Ancient Africa) were among the first in my small jazz LP collection, all bought in the early to mid-80s, a couple during a pilgrimage to Ray's Jazz Shop on Shaftesbury Avenue in London: https://cargocollective.com/raysjazz/filter/Ray%2527s-Jazz/The-Jazz-Shop Cheers again!:)
Nice photos! I think you fell under his spell before I did, Simon. Cheers and thanks for listening!
