Just over five years ago I took my son Kristopher along to The Hokushin Karate Academy in Glasgow run by Sensei Mike McCusker 6 Dan. Two weeks later I joined myself. Just over four years later I became a Shodan, & Kristopher is hopefuly going to sit his black belt test in June this year. It is amazing to think how far we have come in that time. Training under the instruction of Sensei Mike has been brilliant for me. It is one of the best paths I could have taken in life, if not the best. I have also met some great people along that path in places like Holland, Belgium, England and Scotland of course. It will be most interesting for me to watch my son's karate career unfold. He has the advantage of youth on his side, whereas I began in my mid thirties. I would recommend it to people of any age though. Long may it continue!
