The month of May this year is going to be a great month for jazz fans in general and Miles Davis in particular…. due to the fact that Miles would have been 90 years old.
Going some ways to recognise this Sony Pictures will release the biopic movie ‘Miles Ahead’. The movie is directed by Don Cheadle who also stars in the title role. A soundtrack to the movie fhas been released on Columbia Records new includes new recordings overseen by Grammy Award-winning jazz/hip-hop artist Robert Glasper, who also has an album of his own ‘EVERYTHING’S BEAUTIFUL’ on which he has carefully crafted collaborations with Erykah Badu, Bilal & Stevie Wonder.

Another awesome session! The Robert Glasper Trio are playing in Melbourne in July, so I'm tossing up whether to go. I've already got tix to Jose James doing his Billie Holiday thing. Will definitely be picking up the Glasper album though and can't wait for the film.
