Up until October 2019 I wouldn’t have known where to start turning a set of decks on, however due to my circumstances at the time I found myself with a set and plenty of time spare....so I began teaching myself.
Initially it was a way to pass the time and keep idle hands busy. The more I began to learn and understand the more my passion for it grew and I soon found myself practicing at all times day and night.
2020 COVID hits and the country is thrown into lockdown. Finding myself again with plenty of time to spare, I used the opportunity of being stuck at home to practice, practice, practice and created a page on Facebook to start sharing my mixes and get some feedback.
I came across a DJ competition advert showed it to my boys and they said “do it Daddy!!!!” I didn’t think I’d have a chance of getting in but here we are October 2020, 12months on from learning to switch them on and I am now through to the Mix Master DJ Competition Semi-Final!!
