Pansil (Panos Vasilonikolos) was born in Athens. He was curious and interested about the sounds of music from the very early years of his life. He started his musical studies at the age of 4 by learning classical piano, but his passion for percussion won and since the early age of 5 he began his formal education in the local conservatory. His love of the drum set and percussion continued throughout high school and into college. He studied classical percussion. He has performed in many concerts around europe. Additionally, his passion for education has made him a very successful instructor.

He started playing music at local bars as a dj or as a percussionist from his early years. Panos studied music education and composition at the Ionian University and continued his studies with his master’s degree in classical percussion. His influences include Steve Reich, Ney Rosauro, Iannis Xenakis, Peter Sadlo, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Steve Smith, Max Weinberg, Mike Portnoy and Neil Peart.
