Canada
Welcome to ‘Out of the Ordinary’, a fan-driven series focused on Canadian music.
What is 'Canadian' music? Have you ever stopped to think about what makes the music we hear and know as ‘Canadian music’… “Canadian”? Do we accept that what we hear on the radio is supposed to define us as ‘Canadian’ because the music industry is telling us so? Do we question where our music is being created when it is being fed to us through an algorithm? If artists aren’t trending, do you think they are still worth listening to?
These questions form the basis of ‘Out of the Ordinary' - a space to listen to music made by artists across this country we call Canada. Not the artists you'll hear on the radio and not the artists who everyone else has heard of, but artists who are making some really great music and deserve a little more recognition for it.
No particular format. No particular genre. Just creativity to inspire more creativity and sounds to inspire 'out of the ordinary' thinking.
