Brought up out of an era when fashion, technology, and urban innovation began to take over globally, a young man from Newark NJ was definitely paying attention to the process, his name is Orikl As Salaam.

"Growing up as an art student in fine arts and music I was and am always hungry for the next form of expression to create for the world, and to absorb from the world. I am so comfortable in my shell when Im writing and arranging a song, or when Im creating the art direction for a photo-shoot to express the musical emotion that I intend my audience to feel. This is my primary joy in life…expressing myself."

Orikl has performed "Off - Broadway" nationally in plays such as Smokey Joe's Cafe, Dreamgirls, Aint Misbehavin', and handfuls of local productions in the NYC metro area.

Headed for the stars Orikl ha secured a underground fanbase that spans from the NY/NJ jazz scene, to the urban hipster/hip hop movement, to the LGBT community, which has nominated him for a OMA ( Out Music Award
