The Goldmund track is called 'Threnody'
Great question, I've had others ask as well regarding the track titles vs how I post the side of the vinyl and track number. I do it for 2 reasons:
1) I don't know 99% of the track names and a5/b2/c4 is how my brain works. I pre-write my sets before I play live and what you see above is exactly what I use at PRA (other than some notes regarding the individual mixes)
2) I try to have my listeners purchase entire albums instead of just individual tracks to better support the artists. I'd say that 80% of the tracks I play are worth checking out the entire album.
But I do timestamp most of my mixes, and mixcloud has been including most of the track names next to the green play button on the horizontal timeline while a track is playing (there's a yellow box with "now playing: ..."). I found that out last week and couldn't believe they were correct! It worked on my 3/12/12 mix, but it doesn't seem to be doing it on this one. I'll email mixcloud to ask how that works.
I'm glad to hear you're starting to explore ambient/drone. The past 10 years have had some amazing albums in those genres!!
OK thanks. I'm trying to expand my ambient/drone collection and your mixes seem to hit the sweet spot of the style I like best. Just want to make sure I can identify the tracks.
May I ask a favor? Can you list the track names as well as the number? It makes it a little easier to look up tracks, instead of having to go to discogs and looking up the track name based on the track number you list.
Nice catch jbspeck75, I'm impressed! This podcast is different from what I played live at my PRA show. I came back later that night with a different dj, and I chose to post this (which is comprised of that 3/7/11 mix you mentioned) rather than the other material which I posted to my google group.
Sometimes my podcasts can differ from my live show sets if I wasn't happy with the mixes, and it's always under an hour of my 2 hour show. But the track listing here will always be what's on the podcast mix.
Thanks for following so closely, it's much appreciated!!!
Very nice mix. But, I'm confused about the tracks. The tracks listed by mixcloud are those from the second half of your 3/7 show. Which are different than the tracks you annouce during the podcast. Which are different than the tracks listed for 3/19 on your google group. Which is correct? Hard to track these down if I don't know what I'm listening to :-)
Lovely stuff, thank you!
Always enjoyable for the times when you need to feel a chill breeze.
