Olivier Meijs

Long before founding DJ School Amsterdam, Olivier Meijs established himself as one of the most booked DJ’s of the Dutch capital. With an unmistakable funk/soul signature, he rocked dancefloors since the late ‘90’s. Deep rooted in the James Brown legacy, ultra friendly to the ear and seamlessy moving from jazz to house and back, you know an Olivier Meijs-set when you hear it.
Together with his brother Roeland he formed dj-duo Grooveservice, which headlined countless allround and danceclassics parties in and outside the Netherlands during the 00’s.
In 2009, the brothers started DJ School Amsterdam, which has become one of the leading DJ/Producer schools in the world. The school shares it’s knowledge and methods with music institutes worldwide and receives over 1000 students a year.
After finishing the School for Journalism in Utrecht, Olivier maintained a writing career for various on- and offline media to share his expertise on black music history. #oliviermeijs on Insta.
