“Subversive spectacles of length and depth”, to give it its full title, is Toronto producer and DJ James Teej’s exploration of the dark corners of house and techno.
"This mix, recorded in my Toronto studio”, says James, “is a compilation of the deeper leanings of my musical tastes. With the early morning afterhours in mind, I wanted to present and capture those intimate moments after a long night in the club.
“Recording this in between my travels to Europe and South America, I tried to incorporate a variety of influences... from dark pop, deep tech and leftward leaning house."
James’s sophomore album, Eight Bit Ocean, is out now on Last Night on Earth.
