Dance music is about where you’re from, where you are and where you’re going.

That’s especially true for Paul Walker AKA Dubai DJ SL4. Named after his UK postcode, his forthcoming record label, Postcoderecords, aims to get his sound global.

Brought up in the UAE until the age of 16, he began his clubbing life in Liverpool, a city known for its larger than life music scene. Starting with cult nights Cream and Bugged Out, Paul moved onto more homegrown events including Chibuku, 303 and Voodoo, all pushing forward-thinking dance music across the genres. Old school mix tapes from friends kept his music knowledge up to date, before he wisely invested his student overdraft on a set of turntables, and turned to promoting and DJing his own parties in Liverpool as a student.
