In the previous paragraph I talked about the main differences between reflectors and refractors. Reflectors are used in astronomy for the purpose of obtaining an image through telescopes at various wavelengths. In that previous paragraph I mentioned that when a light source is incident upon a reflector, it will produce a correlated beam of light which can be reflected off the other side of the reflector and thus obtain an image. The main advantage to using reflectors in astronomy is that they allow astronomers to use telescopes at wavelengths which would not otherwise be possible, as it would be impossible for a reflecting telescope to bend light in such a way that it could be reflected. This property also allows them to measure distances much larger than would be possible if a telescope had to use reflectors at very high powers.
