I became incredibly enthusiastic about electronic music around the age of 12. Not much later I bought my first mixer and after much saving I finally bought two turntables a year later. My DJ-activity has had its ups and downs, combined with playing guitar in bands. I've always considered myself a music worshipper first and foremost. My greatest skill being to just listen and appreciate music to its fullest. After 10 years you learn that hypes come and go. That there's too much of the same. That there's a lot of status quo club music. But that there's also still an uncountable amount of brilliant music to be discovered, old or new, that makes you still go bonkers. You learn to discriminate the brilliant from the "okay" tracks. In the end thats what DJing is all about: building up great music knowledge and being able to pick the right track for the right moment, without losing your own vision and style. It's about track selection, not mixing virtuosity.
