Natiq Jalil is a self-taught artist who believes that true art begins during those moments between being asleep and being awake.

Natiq was born in Montgomery, AL. He showed a talent for art at a very early age, drawing his favorite cartoon characters. His family moved when he was 13, and Denver, CO became the playground for his imagination. He continued to draw through his high school years and received his first commission at the age of 14, one of his father’s co-workers. As payment, he received his first paint set and some oil pastels. From that moment on, he became fascinated with the world of color.
