In an emerging world of video performance artists, few have background and skill as impressive as David Cabrera, AKA mr.cocoon. With the performative approach of a live musician, his adaptable style has been described as psychedelic narrative, often referencing Nam June Paik and late 60's light shows. Using a combination of self-produced footage, found video, and live-synthesized video sources, mr.cocoon has created a technique of his own. His visual shows have been featured throughout Los Angeles in galleries, for DJs and bands, underground parties, and large public and private events since 1995. As one of the most in-demand video performance artists, mr. cocoon performs in excess of 100 shows a year.
