The band Moya Kalongo formed in Barcelona is comprised of a group of musicians
from different backgrounds and nationalities (Mozambique), Uruguay,
Catalunya), whose long music carers include collaborations with artists such as Els
Comediants, Sol Pico, Manu Chao, Jorge Drexler, Cheikh Lo, The
Troba Kung Fu, the Barcelona Jazz Orchestra, amongst others.
Since forming in 2008 their diverse backgrounds have come together to create a
unique and unprecedented repertoire of Funk, Afrobeat, thus pioneering a music style
in Barcelona which is already a success in Paris, London and New York.
The group’s concerts are a celebration of groove and dance, encouraging audience
participation.
