Hi everyone,
This month we announced changes to our Basic Tier plan. From December 1st, creators on the Basic Tier will have a total allowance of 10 published shows on their channel.
If you have more than 10 shows on December 1st, none of your shows or tracks will be deleted or removed. Creators have total control over which shows they publish or move to drafts.
You can have as many drafts as you like. Draft shows keep all their stats, engagement and chart positions and you can republish them in the future.
Read the full announcement here: https://campus.mixcloud.com/changes-to-mixcloud
In this newsletter, we want to answer your questions about the changes and go into more detail about the decision making process.
Q: I’m already on Pro, how will this affect me?
If you are subscribed to Pro on 1st December, there will be no change to your experience.
Q: Should I delete my shows to stay under the allowance?
No. There is no need to delete any shows.
If you are on the Basic Tier and have more than 10 shows on 1st December, there will be no changes to your channel until your next upload.
If you want to upload more, you’ll just need to move extra shows to drafts. Draft shows preserve all their engagement and info, so you won’t lose any content and you can republish them later.
Q: Can I pay annually?
Yes. You can choose between a monthly or annual subscription.
Until 1st December, we’re offering 70% off the first 3 months on the monthly plan. Sign up here: https://mixcloud.com/plans
Q: Do tracks count towards the 10 show limit?
No, they are counted separately. From 1st December, creators on the Basic Tier can publish up to 10 shows and 5 tracks. Shows can be 15 minutes to 8 hours long. Tracks can be up to 15 minutes long.
Q: Is it a weekly, monthly or total allowance?
Total. You can have up to 10 shows in total published on your channel. Any other uploads will need to stay in drafts. You can move shows between drafts and published as you like.
Q: What happens if I go from a Pro to a Basic Tier account after 1st December?
After 1st December, if a Pro subscriber cancels their subscription, their 10 most recent shows will remain published. Any shows before that will move to drafts. You can move shows to drafts yourself beforehand if you would like different shows to display, or republish draft shows later on.
Q: How and why did we make these changes?
The decision came after an extensive period of research and surveys with creators on the platform.
Each survey and interview directly influenced the direction of the changes along with in-depth market research. We feel that this is the best solution to ensure long-term sustainability for Mixcloud, while maximising the offering for what creators are able to do on the Basic Tier.
By reducing the number of shows publicly streamable at any one time, we can continue subsidising creators - both Basic Tier and Pro - by hosting their content and paying royalties to artists on their behalf.
Upgrading to Pro supports our mission to create a better music ecosystem where artists are paid. Pro subscribers not only unlock unlimited shows and tracks but full access to the only legal platform where you can upload mixes, original tracks, live-stream without takedowns and monetise with royalties paid to the artists you play.
We continue to take on board all creator feedback and this is informing our future plans. We have already made changes to payments for international creators in response to your requests, with other options like Paypal in the pipeline from our payment provider Stripe.
On the roadmap, we’re looking forward to improving a number of features and fixing reported bugs. Next up, we’ll most likely focus on the creator experience, areas such as profile and show pages and the new Tracks beta. Your questions, suggestions and feedback are appreciated and welcome.
Q: Why don’t you make money with ads instead?
Like other streaming services, Mixcloud needs a mixed model to be sustainable. We serve adverts on the platform but they only account for less than 10% of the revenue needed to cover royalties costs.
To rely fully on advertising would involve fundamental changes to the platform with ads saturating the site. This runs against our purpose as a creator-focused platform with music at the centre.
Paid subscriptions like Pro and Premium allow us to pay underlying artists royalties on behalf of all creators without compromising the experience of using the platform.
A mixed model allows us to prioritise building tools directly for creator and listener needs, instead of prioritising the needs of advertisers.
Q: How does Mixcloud compare to competitors?
Mixcloud’s licensing is unique in the music industry. We are the only legal and licensed music platform where you can upload shows, original tracks, live-stream and monetise while underlying artists are paid.
Every other platform compromises music creators in one of these areas. Allowing users to upload or live-stream without giving them the appropriate licenses.
This means creators face demonetisation, muting, DMCA takedowns, strikes against their account or even deletion of their content. Without the right licenses, all platforms follow the same script. But not Mixcloud.
Despite the fact that many of these platforms do not pay royalties to underlying artists, many still charge creators for unlimited uploads. On the other hand, Mixcloud allows as many uploads as you like. We only limit how many shows are published, because these are shows we pay royalties for on your behalf.
Where SoundCloud only allows 3 hours of audio on their free account, we offer up to 10 shows of 8 hours each and 5 tracks of up to 15 minutes - more than 26x more space on the Basic Tier. Unlike SoundCloud, there is no need to delete content and you have full control over what remains published and what you keep in drafts, with all your stats and engagement preserved.
Both our annual and monthly Pro subscriptions are cheaper than SoundCloud, and you get access to many more features. We’re confident both our Pro and Basic Tier are the best offering for music creators, compared to rival platforms which so often charge creators more for less.
Q: What do you get with Pro?
- Publish unlimited shows and tracks
- Live stream without takedowns
- Share music in HQ audio
- Grow with engagement stats
- Earn money with channel subscriptions or tipping
- Stay on track with scheduled uploads
- Send emails direct to your followers with posts
Until the end of the month, we’re offering 70% off a Pro subscription for the first 3 months. Redeem the offer before December 1st: https://www.mixcloud.com/plans
Thank you everyone for your insights and suggestions so far. Your feedback is crucial and helps us make the platform better. We’re grateful for the unique community that has flourished here on Mixcloud.

Download for users' own shows should be implemented. Got rid of original wavs/mp3s ages ago because I didn't anticipate the business model change and this was where I'd planned to keep stuff.
this ^^^^
I became a "Pro" (paying) user before December 1st and have been posting recordings of my weekly community radio show on here since 2018. For some reason, it now only shows the eighteen (18) last shows. So random. Can someone please tell me what is going on? Are y'all updating your servers or some such? This radio show means a lot to me and I want to keep it available for those who want to enjoy past episodes. If it's more money y'all want I will pay it. That is not a problem. Just get the entire catalogue of my show back up ASAP!!
I streamed last night but there’s no recorded draft?
None of the functions under "more options" are working. I tried them all except "delete" for obvious reasons. I see I'm not the only one. Can we please get a response?
1 year later and I still do not see an option to "archive" an upload or change to "draft".
Its good but the "more options" button on the published tracks is not functioning here and I CANT move published shows to drafts.
Question 1: How can I switch from monthly Pro to Annual Pro?
Question 2: Why am I unable to download my mix? Please make it possible to download your own mixes if you're a Pro user.
Question 3: Would it be possible to add mix trimming functionality? Trimming the audio from the beginning/end of a live show, if necessary, would be nice.
Q: Can I pay annually?
Yes. You can choose between a monthly or annual subscription.
so but how?? have I to cancel Pro Monthly and than superscribe new again but annual?? Will my Account still exist??
Please make an option to download our own music if we want to save them as mp3 for a backup
I paid for pro and still only have 10 mixes showing . shouldn't ALL be available for listeners?
Hello. If I were to cancel my Mixcloud Pro subscription for a few months, will my old mixes return to my page when I subscribe again? I'm dealing with some massive financial problems at the moment.
The answer is no. Like me I showed some loyalty to Mixcloud after all over 250,000 plays so tried Pro as they Promised all my +100 shows would never be removed. Well 3 months later after paying for a reduced pro trial I returned back to Standard package and was restricted to only 10 shows!. So that Mixcloud promise was pure lies. Even chatted to the owner who just eventually ignored me and did nothing. Very dissapointed been on Mixcloud for 13 years and this is how they treat loyal folk. So given up with them now. I'd be surprised if that lasted another 3 years. It's is actually very clever programming, remove your shows reduce the bandwidth useage and try to get fees out of users. However less shows, less new user and decreasing pro members. Not impressed Poor poor poor!
Another vote for including the Premium features with the Pro subscription (or at least at a discounted rate). I'm both a listener and creator on Mixcloud which makes it quite pricey to enjoy the platform in both its guises now there is an upload limit. If you bundled the Premium features with the Pro subscription the idea of going Pro is very compelling. I'm taking a break from the Premium subscription as it's currently hard to justify the costs when I pay for other streaming platforms but bundling Premium with the Pro tier would certainly sweeten the deal and allow me to continue to share mixes and content with the Mixcloud community.
Well, I'm taking a break from you now, after 99 shows that I was allowed to upload. It was a great time, I have discovered through your platform great music, and great DJs. Maybe you will change your conditions again sometime?
I'm sorry but it's a fallacy and an outright lie to suggest you really care about paying artists when you insist on using the inaccurate, major label centric Gracenote identifying system to determine what is being played on your service. They either don't identify or mis-identify a huge portion of music heard here. If you were really serious about paying performing artists you would require all posted content to be listed by the hosts and collect and report these statistics. You offer a playlist option but you ignore it, because it's more work or you live in the fantasy world that Gracenote is good enough. And please spare me the weak sauce argument that you can't trust hosts to post honest playlists. It's like suggesting that huge numbers of people vote illegally. It's just not the case and if you were to find a miniscule amount of users posting fake playlists, bounce them. It's criminal policy on your part to not require accurate playlists be posted by any user posting content to your service.
I want to make 45 guest subscriptions so that 45 - and only 45 people can see my shows and posts for free; can I do that yet?
Hi Jazzreloaded, it is not currently possible to gift channel subscriptions to your listeners but I will pass your suggestion on to the team. - Will

Hi Frequency_Formation, thanks for your feedback.
There's no need to delete shows to stay under the allowance. You can move them to drafts.
Draft shows stay in your Creator Dashboard with all their stats, info and engagement intact. This means the uploader can continue to access them, and if you choose to republish them, they will appear exactly as they were before.
Mixcloud has always been a home for more than just mixes - whether it's podcasts, radio shows and interviews - or in the last couple of years live streams and tracks.
Our unique licensing means we're the only platform where creators can legally host all these different kinds of content in one place without takedowns, all while underlying artists are paid.

Hi, I´ve got a question. What happens if I got more than 10 mixes uploaded but I haven´t reached the limit of 80 hours? I have to draft some published shows to upload new mixes?
Hi SlippyDJ, thanks for your question.
If you have more than 10 mixes uploaded, any extra shows will need to move to drafts. If you are on the Basic Tier you can only have 10 published shows on your page.
You have control over which shows you publish and which you would like to move to drafts, and you can change this over time.

Sorry i'm out as a casual user I don't see why I have to pay you for me bringing your website an audience? Therefore i'm paying for these tunes twice. Once to buy & once to play them here. Unless you stream which a lot of people don't, theres zero chance of making those fees back either. For that reason i'm out, you got greedy & now you are going to lose so much of the talent that made Mixcloud great. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Hi DJ Rob, we're sorry to hear you're considering leaving the platform.
When you purchase a track, this does not cover the rights for all uses of the music. Artists, labels and rights holders are entitled to royalties whenever their tracks are used on streaming platforms. This is also the case for other uses such as playing tracks on radio.
Mixcloud is the only platform that has negotiated unique licenses to allow creators to upload DJ mixes, monetise and live-stream their sets legally. We cover the royalties costs and pay artists on creators' behalf.
We can cover creators' royalties and hosting costs up until the 10 published show allowance. Above that, creators are required to upgrade their plan, which enables us to continue paying royalties and provide the full toolkit of services.
Whatever you decide, we hope you understand that this allows Mixcloud to remain sustainable and continue hosting everyone's content while artists are paid.

I will keep on uploading my session here despite your greedy tendancies ($15 a month!).
Never forget Mixcloud is what it is now because of us, Djs (and composers) uploading freely our work with music we've payed for.
Be prepared to have serious competitors now as you reputation is pretty trashed, for now.
Give us reasonable fees and I will change my mind, and maybe even subscribe to it.
And don't insult my intelligence by talking about your actual great 3 months offfer.

true you pay for the music.
but it doesnt mean mixcloud have paid fo rthe rights to have that music on the platform. this is what the money goes too. mixcloud made another post somewhere about rights. if you havent read it i will suggest you do. its on this account.
say i go buy a physical media like a vinyl record. then i pay for the price of it plus small amount that goes to the label/artist. then i can play it in clubs or venues no problem. but. if i play it on a radio. the radio "should" have paid for having the right to play it. its kinda the same with mixcloud. they too have to pay for YOU to have YOUR music on this or another platofrm for that matter. and this is what the money goes too. as a private person buying a the same vinyl record. you cant play it in public space. because you are a private person. as a dj it is allowed for you to play your bought music because you also paid for the copyright to do so. but this also has to be done on every website you upload it too even in a mix. and lets just agree not all platforms follow those rules. or have those rights. mixcloud made a huge job getting to there. even while everything was free. i think covid and growth of other platforms has forced amny into taking money for it. i feel what you say . and i too feel it will kill some creativity. but if you made music. wouldnt you be paid too ? i mean . most would. but i am also aware some music labels are very greedy regarding money. i hope i explained it better for you to understand now. even though it should be mixcloud doing this really. but i suggest you read their post about rights. its rights here on this account :) see what i did htere :D
my concept for more than 20 years has to provide the poeple with music they could listen too for free. as i get it from labels for free and therefore shows my support to those labels/artists.
it has worked fine for 2 decades or more.
but now it is an expense to play music for me as most of the labels or artists i play are infact single white labels or very tiny labels compared to example giants like universal and sony music bmg etc. my question to mixcloud is.
who actually benefits most from this? the large labels/artists ?
or is it dependent upon the tracks themselves so earnings will go to the exact labels we play or the larger distribution labels which in many cases have many smaller labels in they services too? one man labels and artists who only make a single track which might become a hit but they dont wanna produce really just had some fun. what about all those ?
as you can see i already bought pro. but i seriously dont see any difference other i can still upload unlimited and in HQ.
but i dont see how that should make me earn even enough to cover cost of paying for mixcloud really.
feel free to check out my subscriptions if you will.
completely empty. because i feel i let my crowd down by having to pay for what i advertised for at least 2 decades i refuse to have poor people pay to listen to what i do.
my concept is to be able to listen to music i play even if you got no money and is homeless even.
so who really earns on this. im aware this is to have mixcloud survive in a increasingly competitive world of mix upload sites and the battle you took up upon yourself with twitch which you at first dizzed completely but now seems to collaborate with.
i had a free account. i was told to get select. so i got selct. then you advertised premium. i declined due to my concept. but now i was forced to buy pro.
its very hard to figure out your business agenda this way excuse me for saying that.
with that said.
i looked into things and found :
soundcloud offers 50% and a complete plan for producers.
and its 13 dkr cheaper pr month than mixcloud.
reason i went to mixcloud is all in the name since i used to be at soundcloud infact which some of my first uploads should still show today they were transferred via the system back then from sound cloud to mixcloud.
im a dj so i mix. and sound cloud has not so much free upload space as mixcloud does.
so i looked at my options and found it would not pay off to be on soundcloud, hence i am now pro here.
but i am still stunned by how confusing all this has been so far and fears in the future prices will skyrocket for pro users.
the more mixcloud earns on it.
i dont earn a dime on this platform anytime i think. so its really irrelevant what i do. im still not getting my expenses payed and now has to settle with paying myself for something that i always secured my crowd to never do.
and that breaks my heart because i have then let my audience down.
and honestly. i feel this is also somewhat a blow to creativity in general as i also see social media platforms act against art and creative people every single day now.
but i still like mixcloud . you should know this.
it is the best mixupload platform in the world.
but having a very hard to overview business model. and i think this is what most people speak of too in these comments.
i just find it hard to trust your words .
and i hope you understand this.
Regards
THE WIZARD DK
in addition to this.
if i go buy something in a shop anywhere in the world.
i am pretty sure i will get a receipt for whatever i bought.
could i suggest that:
1.
when a mix has left the chart it should be around a week or so in most cases. then we get some notification
2.
and /or email providing us with a list of who exactly was paid from that mix or track upload?
i think that would be very fair use for users who pay money for being on mixcloud so we know who exactly we support.
it would be fair to mixcloud (showing your business is legit)
for labels(showing them who support them)
and for the users.
who therefore knows who when and where the money goes too.
i would say thats fair use for everyone.
and i hope mixcloud & staff will see this in the same mindset too.
sorry for double post.
regards
Wiz
I'm going to reply to you here because I can't under my post.
"does hearthis at have the same rights as mixcloud does i wonder?"
Probably not but I'm also mostly playing all the music I receive. And they aren't big, or even mid tier labels. For them, just being dedicated and supportive matters because I barely got plays even on my main account (this is an alt for my weekly series only!). But Mixcloud has no Paypal payment supported and it's 50 euros and not 30 and I'm from Eastern Europe with a trash currency...
"much of the things you do not use. i dont either."
Yeah, because I'm not in it to get a dime. If I get a premium account on my main on Hearthis, I will just specifically enable subscriptions to say "it's a tip jar". Nobody will pay for it. I'm sure.
"i think your comment is very valid indeed"
Thank you. Been using Mixcloud since 2013 on my main account.
" and i feel disapointed to see mixcloud did not answer to most in this post ."
Yeah, they got stuck on how I do not call my mixes shows and misunderstood it. Agreed, kinda disappointing. My main point is that you have a free user option and then bam, "creator toolkit". No middle route. No option to JUST allow unlimited uploads.
"they literally answered the first. 6 days ago. and nothing since as far as i can tell."
And they won't. Not even a "sorry you are leaving". Nico replied to my main account's post in the previous announcement (and then replied to someone else after mine with my name used...), but I just said thanks for the past nine years but I'm leaving.
Which I will. I don't have a following. (Not even on my main account with 405 or so followers. Doesn't count.)
They could have gone far earlier down a route to enable Mixcloud Select for everyone above 100 followers and maybe one or two criteria and then take a cut of it and use that towards their costs. I applied to it before they had this Pro thing. Got no answer.
My main problem is that they just make the users foot the bill immediately (okay, a one-month grace period), when they could have had a smoother transition. This, mind you, happens despite a 10+ million dollar investment secured in 2018.
another suggestion i just thought off :
some djs have like 2-20 followers here on mixcloud. they have no chance in the world to compete with for example carl cox with more than 225.000 followers. if you go look at his uploads then almost all is exclusive. i think the guy earns alot from that.
so my suggestion is this to support the small dj on mixcloud still even though i probably get hammered by saying this is :
1.
large accounts with a high insomce rate could give a small amount to mixcloud who then will distribute these amount out onto the smaller accounts. this way the smaller accounts can grow steady without fear of not being able to pay for royalties. at least pay enough i mean. sort of the tax system irl. take a little form the rich to support the poor better.
ofc this means a few coins changes hands and some may be totally against that. but it would provde a more solid base i think for the bedroom or smalltime djs too. (i think alot about the small djs because i know how hard this industry can be as a newcomer). i helped tonnes of djs in my time.
but im not a bank. but i think it would benefit all. and this is my thought behind this. if you disagree that is totally understandable. but remind you this is only suggestion. of which im also interested in knowing what people think about. it would mean even if you got non subscribers. you still pay a little beyond the 2.50 standard mark set by mixcloud. but at the cost of some coins from the high income accounts. idk if thats a crazy thought or not. but now its suggested at least. just airing some options to think about. come happy with a comment if you like.
just use the arrow above the one you replied too.
about labels. yes i get alot of music from very small labels too. i do also get some from larger labels but i always liked digging around in the unknown edges of the music industry. and yes i too support many labels who really just are doing all their work because they like it. like pegasus i supported from i think day one and watched it grow until the owner could not withstand the money labels anymore. i feel sad about that because these are people 120% dedicated to what they do for no profits at all. in my world that is the top notch of creatibity to be able to make any type of art for free so other people may be happy from what you just did. like the street musician you bump into by coincidence but the capture your ears and then your heart ans suddenly you find yourself danisng in some random street with total strangers. that is TRUE passion and creativity to me. because they do it from a loving heart and mind. and that is sadly extremely rare these days to see. most true creators of art does it freely and sometimes by accident. money in any way shape or form. will prevent that and possibly even take motivation from them too. i feel this is very important to notice because creativity and art has always been trialed even from the earliest of times. by the church, by oppressors , kings ,dictators and so forth.
because they represent control over others. and creativity and art represents freedom and free thinking. however weird it sounds and however hard that is to understand. but its a known fact. censorship in some nations proves this to be very true even today. let us not forget music was used possibly even before humans could speak in the form of flutes and drum which is some of the oldest instruments found in the world. i think the oldest is a bone flute from germany possibly even belonging to a neanderthal which is known today as the humanoid species who taught homo sapiens how to make fire. our species copies and enhance. and if we cant get away with that. we kill or sack it. or if we dont understand what it is (like some censoring nations seems to not do).
all in all it is killing the creative mind of the human soul. well money has the saying. money is root to all evil. and what exactly did money do of good in this world? not a damn thing. it made people run around thinking they need to be something they are not. and suffering . even a billion dollars doesnt make you true happy. it just makes you know you dont go hungry the next couple of days. it should have nothing to do with being creative or artful. but yet it also affect our lives today in a degree some even get mad from it. so yes im very parted by this. but i also think its needed for mixcloud in itself in order to withstand what pegasus forexample could not. i feel its very sad in many ways. the socalled battle of good and evil. in religious terms was actually always about. free thinking or control. and as said. art and creativity stands for freedom and freethinking. money stands for control. so its a hard one to swallow. and sorry this got way too long than i actually wanted it to be. but i hope it makes mixcloud think too.
music was used alot by shamans for thousands of years. wizards and shamans are not much different. wizards beards are just longer :D
Hi The Wizard DK, thanks a lot for your thoughtful response and questions. It's important to us to be transparent with creators so you can feel confident in your use of the platform.
I’ve included some answers to your queries below:
ROYALTIES:
The royalties we pay out to artists and labels depend on the music you play in your shows. Our audio finger-printer detects the music featured in shows and checks them against the catalogues of labels and collecting organisations we have agreements with. This is combined with work from our data team to assure the accuracy of the finger-printer’s audio identification.
As well as major record labels Universal, Sony and Warner, we have agreements with over 250 independent labels such as XL, Ninja Tune, Mad Decent and more via the Merlin umbrella organisation.
Self-releasing independent artists can use a licensed distribution service like Believe or Tunecore who also send tracks to our audio finger-printer.
On the songwriter and publishing side, Mixcloud has deals with all the major publishers and Performance Rights Organisations such as ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and PRS. We’re always looking to sign deals with more organisations to get better coverage of the global music industry.
If music isn’t released or registered to any of these organizations, it won’t be detected by our finger-printer. However, if it then becomes registered later on, we will start picking it up.
Because of this, we encourage all artists and labels to sign up with these organisations in order to collect their royalties. Please do pass this on to the labels and artists you’re in touch with.
MONETISATION:
If you want to give your listeners an optional way to support you without requiring them to pay for exclusive content, I’d advise you try out our Tipping feature. This allows for 80% of the revenue to go straight to yourself as the Mixcloud creator, since you’re not paywalling any audio containing copyrighted music.
Read more here: https://campus.mixcloud.com/post/how-to-make-money-on-mixcloud
More info on royalties and monetisation: https://www.mixcloud.com/mixcloud/posts/how-we-pay-creators-and-why-we-do-it/
PRICING:
If you sign up from Denmark, Mixcloud Pro is priced at €11 / month or €99 for a yearly plan. To my understanding, at the moment, Soundcloud Next Pro’s annual cost is 954 DKK (~ €128), and if you pay monthly it’s 159DKK (~ €21). Mixcloud Pro is cheaper and gives you access to more features such as live-streaming and posts.
Thank you for your feedback on giving creators information about when their shows leave the charts and about which artists and labels they’re supporting with their shows. I’ll make sure to pass your ideas on to the team.
We appreciate everyone’s feedback on the changes and will continue to take creators suggestions into account.

this was my favourite platform (as a creator and a listener) and it hurts my heart to see what it is becoming. uploading tracks on MIX cloud? there's already a (better) platform for that. livestreaming? there's already a (better) platform for that. mixcloud has been, for years, THE best place for MIXES and now it is becoming a watered down version of 'trying to be everything'. it's a slap in the face to those of us who have been on the platform for years building it to what it has become. i have zero desire to grow an audience, livestream, earn revenue... i just want to have a place to put my sets for the handful of people who enjoy them. perhaps a better option would have been to limit the total number of hours, rather than the number of published sets - there is a major difference between 20x1hr sets and someone with 10x8hr sets. or offer a pay per upload for those who don't post content so often. even if i wanted to pay for the pro subscription (which a briefly considered), i'm unable as there are no payment options suitable for me (why no paypal?). rip mixcloud.
Well said and agreed.
good point here too as i know accounts who literally have years between their uploads.
those away currently will get a massive slap in their face when back next year and see its all changed .
i also like to have a somewhat small crowd close and comfy around. and i dont see how you can make people follow you on this platform if you constantly have to take some sets into drafts for letting new ones up. it is trouble some and most djs just really just like to have a place for their uploads to be. so people can choose to listen to them if they like.
also in some cases a dj may die and some might remember them by listening many years later.
(aka people still listen to elvis even he has been dead for decades by now).
regarding this.
i noticed tons of people spammed Avicii´s account here on mixcloud with. please have a listen to my mix. and excuse my comment on his messages to other djs saying:
guys, this guy is dead. could you please show him some respect and not spam his messages.
i totally have no words for that .
but i hope mixcloud will lock his messages as that is directly disrespecting a person who is no longer with us and if his family come to see or listen in remebrance to him and see all that spam.
i would be pretty pissed off if that was my family member.
yer that took a twisty turn so now i shut my mouth .
but you have a good point there.
peace
Hit the nail on the head 👍
Hi pollysplayground, thank you for sharing your feedback on the changes.
We recently added more payment options to Mixcloud Pro, and Paypal is currently being integrated into our payment provider Stripe - so keep an eye out for when it comes in.
Thank you for your suggestion of alternate ways of calculating the allowance and bringing in per upload pricing. I'll pass your thoughts on to the team.
We believe that Mixcloud is the best place - and in fact the only place - with the licensing to allow creators to legally upload mixes alongside tracks and live-streaming.
As you've said, Mixcloud has always been the best place for mixes. This is because of the unique licensing and infrastructure built into the platform. Though we understand some creators only want to upload shows, other creators are looking for a single place where they can legally host different kinds of content and monetise without being taken down.
The decision to change how the basic tier works is necessary for us to continue operating sustainably. This is not because of the other features we've been building, but because of the rising costs of hosting shows and paying royalties to artists on behalf of creators since we started over 10 years ago. We hope you can understand this.
Thank you for being part of Mixcloud's journey as both a creator and a listener. We appreciate your feedback and want to continue being transparent with users on the platform. We'll be taking creators' thoughts into account as we continue to improve the platform.

maybe STOP spamming Pro users with all the Pro advertising junk when we click our star next to out user name..... we pay for an add free experience !!!
Hi Mike, thanks for this feedback on the Pro stars. I'll pass this on to the team.
Just to note: Pro does not give creators ad-free listening on the platform. This is unlocked by signing up to our Premium subscription for listeners. More info here: https://www.mixcloud.com/mixcloud/posts/what-are-mixclouds-paid-subscription-plans/

Make it permanently cheaper because then it is more reasonable
All the money you made will never buy back your soul, but you can buy pro membership in mixcloud that will help the mixcloud keep growing and people to find there souls .when you help mixcloud ,the Mixcloud will help you even more..
Q: What do you get with Pro?
- Publish unlimited shows and tracks
Not shows, but unlimited uploading is one reason I'd consider paying.
- Live stream without takedowns
No interest. I'm not doing it.
- Share music in HQ audio
No interest. I provide HQ download links.
- Grow with engagement stats
No interest. Not everyone crunches numbers. Passion.
- Earn money with channel subscriptions or tipping
No interest. Nobody ever would.
- Stay on track with scheduled uploads
No interest. Uploading at regular intervals.
- Send emails direct to your followers with posts
No interest. Nobody would read.
So that's a leave after this week's two mixes.
Hi PlagueState, upgrading to Pro does give you unlimited uploads and publishing.
Creators on the Basic Tier can upload as much as they like, but they can only publish 10 of those shows. Once they upload more than 10 shows, they will need to move extra shows to drafts.
If you're on Pro, you can have unlimited uploads and publish them all on your page.

somehow
thats a very good point.
but does hearthis at have the same rights as mixcloud does i wonder?
they do have some i am aware.
but im not sure they cover all like mixcloud does.
much of the things you do not use. i dont either. (see my post above)
so i think your comment is very valid indeed and i feel disapointed to see mixcloud did not answer to most in this post .
they literally answered the first.
6 days ago. and nothing since as far as i can tell.
Will / Mixcloud ;
Yesterday i had about 7040 listens in my History , today i have 6,987 .... Where did these 50+ mixes go ?
Are dj's running away , because they don't like upcoming changes , and taking their mixes with them ?
Will my Favorite mixes also disappear from my Favorites list after December 1st ? And my Reposts as well ?
Erik , dj E 4 Energy.
Hi Erik, thanks for your question.
Mixcloud is not removing any content from the platform.
It's possible that creators you follow are moving some of their shows to drafts to stay under the 10 show Basic Tier allowance.
When creators move their shows to drafts they are no longer streamable by anyone except the uploader. This means they will no longer appear in places like ‘History’, ‘Favourites’ and ‘Reposts’ on other users’ accounts.
If the uploader republishes the show again, it will reappear and be playable.

i loose followers constantly too erik.
and listens.
i think it is because either people close their accounts or some may be spam accounts removed by mixcloud as i think they are also cleaning up in some way.
bots forexample.
and many on mixcloud have bot accounts or highly doubful accounts following them which they probably doesnt even know themselves.
if an account has no image or description forexample. i dont follow and if they follow me.
i may block them.
simply to reduce spam on my own account.
i mean if you make a profile on mixcloud and cant even throw a word or a nation you are from and dont upload some sort of image.
youre probably very serious either about supporting or listening really.
or as mixcloud say. if free accounts move around with drafts.
