Waldo’s story is that of a Hollywood film. He began attending parties at 19 years old. The scene in Greenville SC. at that time [1998] was a strong wave that had hit from deep down south in the Florida night clubs. Funky breaks were dominant in Greenville and pretty much all over the southeast. At the time Artist such as Icey, Sipmly Jeff, Baby Anne, Gumbee, Doc roc, and many more were making their local debut in our area. However Waldo was never much of a party kid. He came in as a DJ. It was MindCycle’s own “Kor -E” who saw the potential in this kid from G-ville. Waldo Didn’t have much of a choice. The elements of life had drawn a line in the sand and it was either choose to find a new out or go down like so many kids before us were doing. Waldo made the right choice of course and it must have been an easy one because his ability to beat match came almost overnight. He had a real ear for original talent and would play a lot of the old school jams that he still is known to drop today.
