Weimar, Germany
How can we succeed in countering the musealization of Bauhaus with a radical debate of present or future political, economic and social realities?
MIND PALACES sets up a social-utopian laboratory inside Bauhaus-Museum Weimar where in the spirit of Sherlock Holmes a Bauhaus Centenary drug dealer may encounter volunteer lifesaver-activists on refugee boats.
Performative formats by the young international artists from the course and discussions by invited guests, i.a. moderated by cultural historian Boris Buden, explore contemporary conflicts, paradoxes and contradictions of a complex society - in an attempt to activate the values and utopias embedded in the Bauhaus idea together with the audience for the present moment.
MIND PALACES is an event series by the MFA program “Public Art and New Artistic Strategies” at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
