Toronto, Canada
Generating critical, Canadian, policy news analysis for the casual but dedicated observer since February 2011.
Community radio is about a conversation without boundaries guided by respect and a desire for understanding; Happenstance and Occurences aims to create and develop just such a conversation in areas ranging from First Nations politics to the financing of Ontario school boards.
We're listener-driven, our stories are guided by the everyday impact of policies currently in place and the potential impact policy recommendations and new studies could have.
Unlike some of our friends in the news community, we do not aim for objective neutrality or a sense of subversive justice. The best we can offer is a commitment to an awareness of our own assumptions and the promise that we want to equip and motivate you to actively engage in your world and make your own decisions on your own terms.
Arts in Ottawa is also always on the tip of our tongue!
Enjoy!
