I listened to soul music in the 70's. Firstly in the youth clubs and then graduated to the clubs (Underage!). There weren't too many handles on soul music in those days, usually those that were good for dancing then those that were not. After serving in the Army from 16 years of age I eventually returned to my home town and in my mid 40's rediscovered soul music in all it's compartmentalised glory. I stuck with what I knew, Northern, but over the years my ears have latched on to the many and varied styles. Hell! I even revived a love for disco!
I now live in Spain on the Costa Blanca near the beautiful town of Javea. At what some would call a ripe old age! I'm reliving my youth and re-educating myself into the styles I missed out on for about 24 years.
