Born in London to Spanish immigrants in 1964, who moved to Worcestershire in 1975. In 1981 formed first band, 1984 formed and fronted Big Town Playboys for 15 years, worked and made friends with Robert Plant, Eric Clapton, Gary Brooker, Andy Fairweather Low, Jeff Beck, Mick Fleetwood amongst many others.
Joined ex-Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings 2001-2004, also created The Mike Sanchez Rhythm & Blues Revue featuring popular Dublin based vocalist Imelda May.
In 2010 Mike settled down in central Spain and performed weekly at clubs and festivals throughout Europe until the pandemic.
