After a lengthy absence, former LuckyMe/All City Dublin signee Mike Slott drops an EP of tranquil ambient tracks. The four ‘Mirror’ compositions that make up Mirror I Mirror are tender synthscapes that send the listener off into a dreamworld. The first two entries here are particularly lush - the opening strains of ‘Mirror I’ lead you to think that you’re actually hearing the first few second of serpentwithfeet’s breakout EP blisters. While the remainder of the track may diverge from The Haxan Cloak’s operatic production style it retains a similar crystalline beauty. The final two ‘Mirrors’ are haunting and lo-fi in a manner that recalls the beat-free moments of Jan Jelinek’s best work.
