Live Recording from a special event I produced in September 2026 called Dance Mabon.
This event originally was a way for me to share a set that I had prepared and didn't get to play that turned into a fundraiser for Nadine Martin, a Takelma elder who is experiencing extreme financial distress.
Nadine is the daughter of a very famous local elder, Grandmother Aggie, one of the founding Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, a profound activist, teacher, and public figure. Nadine devoted her life to supporting her mother in her work and travels, and now, seven years after her mother's death, has found herself in a dire financial situation, hurt and in need from the community.
Choosing to help Nadine, one of the oldest surviving Takelma elders, utterly changed how I viewed this mix and brought forth a much deeper and personally profound story to tell about the spirit of giving and how generosity transforms us.
We can help anyone at any moment, all we need is to remember that.
