Maghdalene is a DJ/performer/artivist. Pronouns are She/They.

Born and raised in Brianza, Italy, they are a classically trained pianist and performer. Based in France between 2012 and 2022, they have started djing and producing in 2015, curating radio shows on Radio Canut, in Lyon and then Egregore, Toulouse, while performing dj sets at local clubs.

In 2019, they introduced their alter ego, Gaia Barella, who has been welcomed with enthousiasm by the parisian eurodance/trance scene, represented by La Darude collective.
In 2021, they co-founded Unit Soeurs, a feminist collective representing women djs in Lyon and promoting their visibility and development through different formats. They consider themselves an activist for equality in the music industry.

Currently based in Brianza, they have collaborated briefly with Tempio del Futuro Perduto. They have a monthly residency on Radio Raheem, where they showcase international guests in their show "Like Nobody's Watching".
