Matt Schilmoeller has what is known as ACC, Agenesis of the Corpus Collosum. It means a key connector in his brain was missing. His mother Kathy watched him struggle for years with simple tasks, and became inspired to help other families dealing with the disorder.

When Matt was diagnosed at age nine, Kathy says her doctor told her there was very little information on ACC.

"I actually kind of looked at his book shelf and I thought 'point me to the book' and he said 'there is no information, just keep doing what you've been doing.' I was just devastated, cause I really had great hopes there was going to be that book on the shelf," said Kathy.
