The best Djs know that Djing is first about being able to read people and then about being able to tap into that human experience and take it on a journey, Matthew creates and plays music that gives emotion a chance to speak. Matthew Jones (formally Matt Lavelle) was born in London 32 years ago. He has been Djing for the past 13 years in which the music he’s been playing has been derided and lauded in equal measures. He started Djing in 1995 where he was co-promoter and resident for octavia, a Kent based event. He also played for the University of Greenwich, Love and Millenium nights plus other guest slots at other local events. From then on Matthew wanted fresh challenges, and wanted to see how he would fair up against other aspiring Djs in the fickle world of Djing, and what better place is there to put it into practise than Ibiza
