Maatu embraced the sound of Tech House and Techno that brings a unique sound in his own right. Maatu's sound is heavily influenced by the producers and Dj's of Europe the likes of Mathias Kaden, Nick Curly, Adriatique, Sam Paganini, Victor Ruiz, Amelia Lens, Monika Kruse just name a few. Maatu turned to electronic music when he went to a Album release from the brothers of "Antix/Fiord" Bart & Hayden almost 20 years ago...I think it was called "Mantra or Manta" something like that it was more on the pysc-trance Maatu explains "it was epic, mind blowing!!! In the middle of this New Zealand native bush about 1-2 hrs Nth of Auckland, with this massive setup of trailers with speakers and DJ deck...It rained through the early hours of the morning and we just stripped and went for it stomping hard in the mud...Best thing about it I was with one of my brothers and a good close group of friends that I trust..Will never forget it!
