We lost my Uncle Pat when he lost his battle with cancer over the summer. It has taken me awhile to complete this mix because it has been quite emotional every time I pick it back up. Growing up, he was my closest uncle in age and we spent a lot of time together. I learned so much from him and he had a big influence in my life. I am glad that I got to tell him this shortly before he passed. Some of the song choices in this mix are things that will help me remember him, others are from some of his favorite artists, and others just kind of felt right. I think he would be happy with the mix and I know he would have a hundred tidbits and historical facts to teach me about these songs and another hundred memories to go along.

Man this show is a rollercoaster!
Just wait til you get to hour 4.
Aw, the first five notes of the SP song triggered instant nostalgia and melancholy.
Matt, already a few days since I listend to your tribute show for your uncle. It was an intense ride with lots of surprises. I love it, when shows take turns I don't expect and take me on an adventurous journey. I hope it helps to keep your uncle in good memory. So long and keep on keeping on...
Whenever these fan chants kick in, I expect Fearless by Pink Floyd to start playing, because that's the only place I normally hear them. Clearly, I am not a sports fan.
MACY GRAY!
I always liked Frankie's version the best. Then again, I have a deep-seated cover-bias.
Geto Boys outta nowhere. This Uncle Pat guy must have been pretty, pretty, pretty awesome. (Also I made it halfway!)
Many thanks for sharing this tribute to your uncle, Matt! It certainly is chock full of surprises:) Really glad you got to tell him how much he meant to you. All the best! S.
Is this a weird Dead Kennedys cover band trashing a football player? This is the craziest tribute show ever - you should be proud.
Man, I just learned something new about them: "Several members of Watershed formed The Dead Schembechlers, a punk band based on the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry. Watershed has appeared on tour with several other bands, including the shock-rap group Insane Clown Posse.[2]"
But you're sort of right, they are a play on the Dead Kennedy and they're spectacular:
