Masaraka: intermediary between the asylum and the man.

In a study of the French anthropologist Marc de Civrieux about the Indians Maquiritare and the Kariña, is a reference of first shamán that initiated the spirits in the culture and use of the tobacco..

The author says:

According to a Kariña myth gathered by us in the Table of Guanipa, the tobacco was born from the corpse of the first man who the Spirits Grandparents of the Wisdom tried to initiate but, having disobeyed to an order of these spirits, that man died. His son named Masaraka was the one who received the initiation of the hair nets, with the order to work the tobacco and to drink it. (Civrieux, 1974).

From these lines the intention was born to turn the name of the group into a mix between the ancestral ethnic group of the Venezuelan east on a product of the cross-cultural influence: Masaraka Records.
