Mary Catlett is a writer, vocalist and all around good egg. She's a graduate of Player's Workshop of the Second City, Chicago's famed Second City Conservatory, and the Funny Firm Stand-Up Comedy Workshops where she studied under T. Sean Shannon, Bill Hicks, Richard Jeni and Paul Provenza. She has worked professionally as a stand-up comic in the Chicago area, and also as a newspaper reporter and photographer in central Iowa for three years, including a stint as managing editor for a daily newspaper. In 2007 the Iowa Newspaper Association awarded her third place master columnist for her humor columns as well as first place for best feature page and first place for best personality feature story. As a singer, she studied opera at Simpson College in Indianola, IA and was accepted as a vocal performance major. She originated the lead in Tim Minikel's "Quintet," as well as the part of
