been intrested in the mod/scooter scene since i was 17 when the film quadrophenia came out in 1979 ,back in 78 ish i bought my first scooter ,a lambretta colour blue with birds all over it called skytalk that was my first one bought off a bloke just off the top of wigan rd then the second one was a vespa ,primy was original red then customized to a black metal flake with the jam ,group on front leg sheilds from the LP [in the city ] done by martin mayers who was at that time one of the best custom sprayers at that time
then about 1979/80/81 the 3rd one was a custom vespa p200e [american dream] was dark blue, & was martin mayers brothers scooter peters mayers, originally , it was then transformed to a red & white coloured scooter, sprayed & airbrushed again by martin mayers i bought it from brookfields scooter shop on halliwell rd, bolton. we used to go to franks scooter shop in peel st farnworth for our oil /spark plugs /inner tubes/
at easter holidays we used to go to bate
