Manchester raised, Oxford based Martin Andrews performs live as Octavia Freud and makes solo sardonic DIY electronica with a personal and political edge. Martin is also a DJ and music promoter.
He has performed in numerous live electronic acts for over twenty years, including at London's ICA, Flèche Dor in Paris and Isle of Wight's Bestival festival. He has done live music and DJ radio sessions on XFM, K2K and The Melting Pot. His collaboration with producer IDC, on the track 'Modern Touch' was awarded single of the month in Mixmag magazine. Martin's tracks have been previously selected by the late Andrew Weatherall for his DJ sessions, appeared alongside Goldfrapp on the influential 'Robopop' electro compilations and been remixed at Death in Vegas' Contino Rooms. He has championed emerging live electronic music, spending several years promoting London's Heavenly Social's 'Neural Ohmlette' live club nights and setting up the monthly Basement and Yard sessions at Modern Art Oxford.
