Malik Abdul-Rahmaan is a music producer, DJ, archivist, and educator whose work traces the cultural and historical dimensions of sound, with a deep focus on Afro Diasporic musical traditions. An eternal student of the game with nearly 25 years behind the boards and digging through the crates—including a decade spent in Tokyo learning the craft and helping to shape the city’s hip-hop landscape—he has collaborated and produced for a wide array of artists, such as Ghostface Killah, Pink Siifu, Navy Blue, Ka, Oddisee, and many others. A former staff member at New York City institution A1 Record Shop, Malik brings a digger’s sensibility to every set, weaving rare global grooves, deep jazz cuts, soulful rhythms and house + techno vibrations into expansive journeys rooted in both culture and memory.
