• The eldest of seven children, born Dunedin, raised in Dunedin, Rolleston, Christchurch and Ngaruawahia
• Married to Sue, a District Nurse
• We have three adult children, a grandson and granddaughter
• Joined the NZ Post Office as trainee telecommunications outside plant technician after farming, freezing works, OE to Australia and the NZ Army
• Engaged in all aspects of telecommunications outside plant activities with a period as Outside Plant Practices Advisor
• Advancement through the organisation in supervisory and senior management roles
• “Down shifted” and resigned as Manager Field Operations in May 04
• Since then have been with Downer, Corporate Cabs as an Owner/Operator, Trico Communications and Visionstream in various roles
• Now with Outsource Communications (OCL) part time working from home
