Growing up in East Berlin in the 90s, I was strongly influenced by techno, metal and post-hardcore. I remember listening to Apollo440 as a kid and wondering why that shit grooved so much. :)

I heard drum & bass for the first time at the campsite. Those sub basses... It was Phil Tangent with Drawing You. I haven't been able to stop since.
