I love me some ambient guitar. The kind that removes the attack at front of the note, either through pedals or ebow, so you get swells and washes of beautiful sound.

Aidan Baker is quier intriguing, specially in live sessions. He is also playing live ambient sets with electric violin as far as i know.

Here I am about a month late again. :-) Perhaps my favorite song in this vein is "Skies For Nash" by July Skies. Some here probably already familiar to you as well but some favorite albums of this sort that come to mind include 'Maybe They Will Sing For Us Tomorrow' by Hammock, 'The Swiss Illness' by Lowercase Noises, 'Afterimage' by Chihei Hatakeyama, 'Six Pieces for Guitar' by Stijn Huwels, 'Till Human Voices Wake Us' by Siavash Amini, 'Night Paths' by Wil Bolton, 'Reveries' by Noveller & Thisquietarmy. Nice to be reminded of all of those.

I don’t know that it would be classified ‘ambient’ as much as ‘drone/doom’ but the sonic textures on both releases by Sunn O))) this year https://youtu.be/Y20qC3qgpps
I've tried to like Sunn O))) but it's just not my cup of tea. I think as I've gotten older I've become less tolerant of noise. But as far as drone/doom goes that track sounded pretty darn good. Cheers!

Woo - It's cosy inside
The Woo sounds very keyboardy/synthy, but that's because they put guitars through a synth sequencer a lot of the time to create those odd rhythms.
