This mix was inspired by Piano Day on March 28th. The Piano Day website, pianoday.org, has this awesome random note generator. I highly recommend playing around with it. I made an audio recording of my random notes and then messed with it by mixing it with a backwards version and a slowed down version and adding a bit of reverb. And that's what got the mix going.
Next I stumbled across an amazing recording on SoundCloud here... https://soundcloud.com/hey-exit/every-recording-of-gymnopedie-1
Brendan Landis, recording as Hey Exit, took every recording he could find of Satie's Gymnopedie #1 and played them all at the same time, layered on top of each other, timestretched to the length of the longest recording. The 60 plus recordings combine to create an ethereal, phasing shifting version the famous Gymnopedie #1.
Other artists include Nils Frahm, Harold Budd, Roedelius, Roger Eno, Akria Rabelais, Steve Roach & more.

OmG...thx for the tip...i just didn't wait long enough to see the image of the hands at the piano, to cotton onto the idea. Lovely sounds..very reverby, and deep. Love the muted notes. Love to know how you recorded your session and got it into your mix. Have you seen the Bloom app from Eno o the Apple store? I think i paid $4 for it. One of the only apps ive bought, its quite good sonically. I am on the android platform alas. May switch just for the musical aspect of some apps. I'm still in acoustic mode and don't use a lot of digital effects.
I recorded my session with Audacity while playing on the website on my PC. I have Bloom on my phone and like it a lot but haven't opened it up in a long time. I should try running that through my PC and recording it. Maybe make a mix of random note generator apps and websites. Cheers!
Very cool site, and in 2022, Piano day lands on the 88th day of year, March 29th, my Birthday. I knew i was special! Gotta keep my 88's straight! But for the lif of me, i cannot find the note generator on their webpage. Do i need to be using a Apple iphone or a computer? Is doesn't seem to be there on my Note8. Hmmph. The note generator that you mentio ed reminds me of an apple app by Brian Eno called Bloom which allow you to genetate beautiful sounds using your ipad's touch screen.
I usually access the site on a computer but I just tried it on my iPhone and it worked. The main page starts with flip cards that spell out Piano Day then the date then an illustration then random numbers and letters. That is the note generator. Just click or tap on any letter or number to trigger a sound.
I am going to check out pianoday.org. thanks for the link and tracklist and more beautiful moments..00:00 Roger Eno - Fleeting Smile
