In early 1885 the inventor Thomas Edison became pregnant with a notion, one that would be birthed from his proverbial loins on December 29th the very same year, a remarkably lengthy labour in any case, but especially overdue since his progeny was none other than radio itself (and they were much bigger in them days). Sprung from his entirely figurative front bottom, it was soon taking the world by storm…

But its story does not end there, no sir, no ma’am. In 2010, audiences are readying themselves for what promises to be the second coming of radio transmissions (i.e. ultimately a bit underwhelming, potentially not happening at all). Yes, dear listener, your ears are invited on a journey through soundscapes hither unknown, as none other than Helen Maclean and Tom MacDonald (voted by teaching staff ‘most likely to succeed’ and ‘…fail’ respectively at their school graduations) chew the breeze and shoot the fat over the airwaves with their weekly show ‘Loitering With Intent’.
