Lewis LaCook is a poet and musician who works at the borders of genres, blending romanticism, post-modernism, free jazz, surrealism, disjunctive poetics, acid house, progressive rock, pop, performance art, intelligent dance music, electronics and ritual into a networked shamanism for the 21st century. Resisting categorization, his work braids the disparate threads of contemporary life into a pulsing fabric that is both touchingly human and awash in fractal circuitry. A son of Lorain, Ohio’s late-20th-century industrial ghostscape, he transforms memory, decay, and data into luminous sound and language from his home in Fredonia, New York.
